How Essential Oils Can Relieve Emotional Traumas
Nov 14th, 2008 by lindasmith
When traumas occur in your life, you are simultaneously registering smells with that trauma whether you are aware of it or not. When the same odor is smelled again, fear or the emotion originally experienced, gets triggered. For example, say as a child you were terrorized by an older adult–a teacher, neighbor, store clerk, etc. Perhaps that person wore a particular cologne or perfume but at the time, you weren’t particularly paying attention to their smell. Years later, that same smell is registered and the emotion of fear or anxiety comes up only it may or may not be attached to the memory of the adult who terrorized you.
How Can Essential Oils Help Release Emotional Traumas?
Odors which carry a postivie association can help you bring about a change of attitude by enabling you to re-experience pleasure or joy. Releasing emotions that have been buried is actually the work of a whole life time. It’s important to remember that changing emotional patterns with essential oils is a very gentle process and can take time. Essential oils are made up of thousands of different compounds. When you inhale or rub an oil on the body, or take it internally, the molecules of these compounds carry coded information that can be translated by your cellular DNA. this can be beneficial for your body, mind and spirit. More on this in future posts.
