Essential Oils Can Help Counter the Real Cause of Hot Flashes and Night Sweats

Hot flashes and night sweats are so common during menopause that women are led to believe the two go hand-in-hand. But this assumption is misleading for women who may be younger–in their twenties and thirties who because of the stresses in their lives are experiencing hot flashes. Hormonal balance is your body’s natural state but when there are too many demands on your body, its ability to balance your hormones is overwhelmed. The resulting hormonal imbalance gives rise to hot flashes or night sweats. Basically, the heat regulatory area of the brain is “tricked” into thinking the body needs to dispel heat, causing it to send out signals for blood vessels to dilate, heart rate to go up and sweat glands to open.
Factors That Increase the Likelihood of Hot Flashes
High levels of anxiety will increase the likelihood of hot flashes and night sweats up to five times. Being overweight contributes as well as smoking can double your risk. Certain foods like sugar, caffeine, alcohol and hot spices trigger hot flashes in some women.
How Can Essential Oils Help Decrease these Symptoms?
Clary sage is called the “gift to the female” because of its estrogen-like qualities. It helps to decrease excessive sweating, is mood elevating, and will generally balance out your hormones. Cypress is also good for excessive perspiration and peppermint is very cooling. Pine which is also estrogen-like is good for excess sweating. Plus–essential oils can help with relaxation, weight control, smoking cessation and much more.
We have essential oils from nature which can help us and they don’t have side effects. Neither do you have to worry that they will cause cancer like many drugs have in the past.
