Anointing with an oil is suppose to be a gentle intentional touch to the body using pure therapeutic grade essential oils. Your thoughts are most important when anointing either yourself or someone else. Intention embraces the spiritual purpose that will shift the subtle energy field that we all possess. The oils respond to both your thoughts and your touch. Touch is a powerful way to connect and communicate.

When using an essential oil, simply put a drop or two in one palm and with the fingers of the other hand, dip them into the oil and gently touch an area of the body along with an affirmation or prayer of blessing. If it feels appropriate, make a sign of the cross if you are anointing the brow, lips or heart.
