Cinnamon Bark–an Oil of Wealth
Jan 8th, 2009 by lindasmith
Following our theme of essential oils for abundance in our lives, we turn now to cinnamon bark. Yes I am referring to the inner bark of the cinnamon tree from which we get our cinnamon sticks and ground cinnamon. Only now we are steam distilling the oil from this inner bark. It is considered a very “hot” oil particularly to the skin since it is high in aldehydes which can burn if not diluted. Aldehydes are the compounds known as the “aphrodisiacs.”
Cinnamon bark essential oil is one of the most powerful antibacterial, antiviral oils of all–even stronger than most antibiotics. It is also a powerful antioxidant. It is beneficial for circulation, infections, coughs, exhaustion, respiratory infections, digestion rheumatism and warts. For emotional healing, it is used to encourage invigoration, benevolence, strength, and energy.
In the ancient world, cinnamon bark was considered an oil of wealth. It was regarded by the emperors of China and India to have great monetary value–in fact the wealth of those leaders and the country was mesured by how much oil they possessed. They believed that Cinnamon Bark attracted wealth and abundance.
